Amazing location next to one of the small rivers. The family is lovely and they cook amazing food. They don't live in the house, but they are very attentive and arrange any meal you need (the mum cooks really good!) any tour or train ticket. The house is in a quiet area, away from any road or noise.

Vijash and his family run this Fabulous homestay on Munroe island. We had a lovely big a/c room with private bathroom. There is a communal area where meals are served and/or just to chill with hammocks and comfy chairs. We went on the early evening sunset canoe trip - amazing just floating down the canals. Also got up at 5:00am for the sunrise canoe trip, spectacular. The food, wow... Absolutely delicious take on South Indian cuisine I can safely say that these was the best meals I've had in Kerala. Highly recommend this homestay.

If you're looking for somewhere relaxing to enjoy the Kerala Backwaters, this is the place to stay! The family provides delicious meals and are more than happy provide extra information about what you're eating and also about the local area. It is easy to arrange activities such as canoe rides, bikes or kayaks with them, but also, if you can also laze about by the rivers edge, spotting wildlife or reading - highly recommended! They were extremely responsive via Whatsapp and were very helpful when we had some transport issues getting to and from their place. Would definitely come stay again!

Beautiful small place in a quiet part of the island. Vishnu and his family are great hosts. He recommended a restaurant and sent us to a temple festival. We can recommend doing the boat tour to see the sunrise. He also helped us with the next part of our trip. Breakfast was really tasty (especially the rice noodles). We also had dinner twice, which was simple and again really good.

My stay at this homestay on Munroe Island was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment | arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The highlight of the experience was undoubtedly the host, Appu. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the island — its history, culture, wildlife, and the hidden gems that most tourists never get to see. Appu went above and beyond to make sure every part of my stay was comfortable and enriching. Whether it was guiding us through serene backwater canoe rides, sharing fascinating stories about the island's traditions, or introducing us to delicious local food, he made every moment special. The homestay itself is peaceful, clean, and surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Waking up to the sounds of birds and watching the sunrise over the backwaters was magical. If you're planning a trip to Munroe Island, this is the place to stay. Appu's hospitality and deep love for his home make this more than just accommodation — it's an experience you'll cherish forever.
