It was an excellent place to stay, quiet, quaint and close to a beautiful beach, albeit not for swimming. We enjoyed the comfortable rooms with gorgeous views, delicious food and wonderful hospitality. We loved being off the grid a little too, but easily accessible to Mirissa beach, shops and restaurants. The manager was so friendly and very professional. The two cooks cooked Sri Lankan and western breakfast beautifully. The other staff were lovely and discrete and kept and wonderfully tidy and gorgeous establishment. Highly recommend!!!!!

The family who owns the place is so nice- they have arranged everything from whale watching tour to tuktuk drive. The location of the hotel is great, rooms are comfortable and clean and have nice jungle view, you can watch monkeys playing on the trees from the balcony. We liked the hotel so much we reserved it also for our second stay in Mirissa.

This property is a big 10 for few reasons. Room is quite big and clean. Owners devotion is out this world. Best srilankan breakfast so far. They have laundry service and it's great price. When we came back from beach everything waited for us clean. U get maximum for a 20$ Support local people.

Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and equipped with all the essentials, my room provided a haven of rest after a day's exploration. From the plush bedding to the thoughtful decor, the attention to detail exceeded my expectations. The staff of Suriya Homestay Mirissa are the heart and soul of the establishment. Their professionalism, attentiveness and genuine friendliness created a welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. Whether assisting with local recommendations or attending promptly to any request, the staff consistently went above and beyond. The guest house has a host of complimentary amenities for both leisure and business travelers. Additional Wi-Fi was reliable and common areas well maintained. You can spend time relaxing on the veranda outside the room to read a book and watch the birds. Having a very fast fiber optic internet connection made my daily activities very easy. Centrally located, Suriya Homestay Mirissa enjoys a prime location. Proximity to major attractions, dining establishments and public transportation makes exploring the area easy. The peaceful surroundings also ensured a restful sleep.

Room was clean and comfortable....only 10 min walk to the beach. Room owner, Heshan was one of the most wonderful people we met in SriLanka. He arranged for whale watching at a very competitive price almost 20-30% lower than the price quoted by other boatsmen and he himself dropped us to the boat on his tuktuk. The room also comes with a shared kitchen with a refrigerator, cooking stove etc.,

What a lovely place! Bird House is located close to the beach, yet in a very quiet area surrounded by nature. The decoration is a huge plus. Ishan, our host, is the embodiment of Sri Lankan hospitality. He was attentive, helpful and very kind. I am so glad we could extend our stay! I would definitely recommend Bird House:)

Great stay in this establishment, the 3 bedrooms have an incredible view on the ocean. We couldn't have dreamed of better. Tissara and her parents are lovely hosts who welcomed us wonderfully. The juices, meals and breakfasts were delicious. Thank you for everything, we will definitely come back on our next trip to Sri Lanka.

    The nicest host family imaginable is running this very nice home stay. The rooms are clean and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Plenty of restaurants, etc. close by, but make sure to also eat in their own little restaurant - very good classic Sri Lankan food. Very close to the beach, main street, whale watching expeditions, etc.

    I stayed here for two nights with my family. I liked the warmth of the host family. The uncle and aunt were very kind. At our request, they prepared a vegetarian dinner for us at a reasonable price. I would recommend this homestay. It is located right next to the beach and coconut hill. P.S. I am very touched by the hand-woven cap that the auntie prepared and gave to my daughter on departure. Thank you very much.
