Sahan was super nice host, very helpful and pacient. The room was comfortable and very clean.The location was perfect to explore the old town and the temples. You can rent bikes which is very convenient.

Absolutely amazing hotel, very clean and spacious rooms, perfect location (5 mins from ticket office, 15 from polonnaruwa sacred city entrance), friendly stuff and hotel owner. Really welcoming host, the rooms were immaculate, great hot showers, clean bathrooms, one of our favourite stays in a 5 week trip around Sri Lanka. The location and the great field views made it a fantastic place to stay while exploring the temple/ruins. Set back from the main road so it was quiet at night too. The food was absolutely amazing - the breakfast was huge and brilliant value for money at $3 each, don't miss out on the fantastic coconut and honey pancakes. We ate dinner here both nights of our stay and the amazing flavours and generous portions were better than a lot we have seen in restaurants on our travels. The spiced chicken/rice with all the sri lankan side dishes we had was lovely! The host is always there without being intrusive, happy to help book things if needed or just have a chat. Would thoroughly recommend staying here!

We stayed at Binara for two nights and really enjoyed our time. You stay in the house of the lovely couple who have two adorable little children. Breakfast and dinner are lovingly prepared. The excavation site of Polonnaruwa is easy to reach by bike. On Binara's recommendation, we went on a boat trip with fishermen, a couple, who even had a small picnic with them. A very special experience. He also arranged pick-ups for us with a reliable driver. We really enjoyed our days at Binara and can highly recommend this family-run accommodation.

We had an amazing stay at Aruna Homestay over the new year. They invited us into their home and treated us like part of their family. They invited us to celebrated the new year with them. It was an amazing experience and Aruna and his wife and daughters are truly amazing hosts. The room was clean and comfortable - no complaints there - as advertised. We were able to also rent a scooter from Aruna to go exploring more the ancient city which was very helpful. All in all we had a fabulous time - only sad that we could not stay longer.

Room is very big, with comfortable beds. Very quiet location. Hot water works very well, there is even a toothpaste. WiFi works very well. We had no mosquitoes. To the historical part you can cycle by bicycle , there is a path, you don’t have to cycle on the highway. The juices are very tasty.
