This is a hidden gem! The room is spacious and comfortable, with a great view. The host is very friendly and the house cat is sooo cute! Breakfast was also delicious and plentiful. We had a very relaxing stay and would love to return!

Mr Shu and his assistant waited for us as we cycled in in a thunderstorm and were the kindest in drying out stuff and warming our hearts. I said it as the time and it remains true now: they make the best food in Taiwan, both dinner and breakfast.

A very unique, random but cool place in a remote "village". To get there, you cross the bridge over the river with a stunning view. It's close to beautiful hikes and they provide a solid healthy breakfast. Lunch and dinner as well if you want, with veggies from their own garden. Downstairs is filled with taiwanese artifacts and statues and upstairs is a gallery. It's very relaxed and an experience to stay here if you love hiking! The staff was super friendly and welcoming! A bit over 2hrs from Taichung with a direct bus to Lileng, 7 minute walk from bus stop Lileng.

As a birdwatcher, I spent time exploring the surrounding area and also visited Daisetsuzan. It's ideally located—about 25 minutes to the Daisetsuzan forest road and around one hour to the mid-mountain parking area. I stayed here for three days. The accommodation is located on the outskirts of town, along a river, within a commercial complex that includes a vegetarian restaurant called Jōjizai (澄石享自在). Note that the place is not listed on Google Maps under the name "Mori Ryokō," so it's best to use Jōjizai as a landmark. The lodging itself is a small three-story building, surrounded by a beautiful biotope. At night, the area comes alive with the calls of frogs, which some may find noisy. You may also spot beetles flying around. This place is more suited for those who appreciate and enjoy nature. There are no restaurants within walking distance, so it's recommended to have your dinner by 6 PM or plan to drive elsewhere. On weekends, many non-guests visit the area during the day and into the evening. However, there are three parking lots, so finding a space shouldn't be an issue. I had dinner at Jōjizai on my last night, and it was the best meal I had in Taiwan. I would definitely love to come back.

Lovely room and splendid view. The room was spacious and the bathroom came with a bathtub. The picturesque mountain landscape view from our room and breakfast area was a sight to behold. We had the most lovely hosts - the owners of the place welcomed us with such warm hospitality, serving us lovingly prepared sumptous meals. Everything was perfect.
