Upon arrival my hostess was quick to come and meet me outside making me feel very welcome. My room was very spacious with room to spread out my large suitcase on the extra bed. A full spread for tea and coffee was set in my room including biscuits and proper tea cups & saucers. There was milk (not artificial whitener) for my tea in a fridge that we could also use for our food. The bed was extremely comfortable with lots of pillows as well as all the linens and towels were great quality. The common spaces were modern and comfortable. And the hostess checked in before I went to bed. Great location to a lovely beach I wish I had booked this property for more than one night.

Very personable and warm. Also cooks up a great breakfast. You’re 5 minutes from the town of Clifden with lots of dining options and shops. We enjoyed Guy’s Pub. If we find ourselves this way again, we’ll return. We loved the host’s Border Collies, Lily and Rosie!

Quietly situated, Mountain View Guesthouse is an Irish Tourist Board approved family-run 4-star guest house. It features mature gardens, free Wi-Fi and free private parking, and is situated just 3 km from the village of Oughterard, ideally located for exploring Connemara and Galway city. Everything was just perfect - Patricia was the perfect host giving us lots of great information on where to get dinner, local spots to visit and just general banter! We had the best room in the place (imo). Breakfast was fabulous and i felt thoroughly spoilt!

Dun Ri Guest House serves both full Irish and lighter breakfast options. All are freshly prepared with locally sourced produce, homemade breads and preserves. Beautiful rooms and the best breakfast we had out of all of our B&Bs across the coast. We reserved a room last minute after staying at a cheaper accommodation in town and extremely happy we made the switch to Dun Ri.

There are 3 apartments with private external entrance - 2 x one-bedroom on the ground floor and 1 x two-bedroom self-catering apartment on the first floor, upstairs and 3 further apartments located in the main building, entered by the main entrance - 2 x one bedroom and one x 2 bedroom, these are located on the first floor -upstairs. Exceptionally high standard of guest accommodation, absolute comfort, attention to every detail, comfortable furniture, spacious rooms, beautiful furnishings, artwork, small details that received very careful attention. I have travelled in over 30 countries, have stayed in many B&Bs and occasionally in 5-star hotels, but never found a place that equalled the careful thought that has been put into the accommodation at Buttermilk Lodge in Clifden. We will certainly return and we have taken the business cards provided to share with all our friends. Having a private lounge/kitchen in addition to ensuite bedroom was wonderful, with large TV in both rooms. Our hostess, Catriona, had left very welcome food in the frig -including orange juice, milk, plenty of butter, jam and marmalade - and we greatly appreicated her home-made brown bread and fruitcake - which was really thoughtful and generous. The fact that Buttermilk Lodge provides conditions for self catering in a private lounge with fully equipped kitchen, made our stay less expensive than if we were eating out every day. This accommodation is very conveniently located to Clifden town and access to all the wonders of the Connemara landscape and coastal resorts.

Very friendly hosts, delicious breakfast, lovely decor in the bedroom. The host advised us to walk and swim on the beautiful Mannin beach which is in front of the house. The water was Crystal clear and the beach was lovely. We had a great stay.

Its was a stunning location,the stay was so good.Nice place.Donna is so good and helpful.I will give 10/10.Hope to stay again there.Connemara you stole ny heart❤️

Wonderful atmosphere, accommodation, service and food.
