We loved everything about our stay. It was the perfect historical setting. The grounds were so beautiful to walk, watch the swans, or sit at the big window (if raining) and enjoy the gardens. It’s still close enough to town to see the sites or take a tour then return to a relaxing home. Sharing a house and meeting other travelers was a bonus. Most of all, we enjoyed our evening with the host (Mark) and his son (Harry) sharing stories. We highly recommend staying at the Shannon River House.

It was one of the best properties we stayed at during our 10 days in Ireland, with the exception of breakfast, which was minimal. Otherwise, we’d come back again!

The cafe was lovely, staff courteous and friendly.
