This guest house offers free private parking and a shared kitchen. The guest house has family rooms. It was the BEST accommodation in Matsumoto. Everything, from check-in to facilities, cleanliness, comfort, and heating (as it was winter), was absolutely perfect with no flaws. Additionally, it is conveniently located at a reasonable distance from Matsumoto Station, and just a short walk takes you to Aeon Mall and the main street. The river view from the balcony is cool.

14 km from Ryuoo Ski Park, Guest House Hostel yukuru is a recently renovated property situated in Iiyama and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. The property has mountain and garden views, and is 21 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. The property was in a nice location close enough to Iiyama Station. The hosts were some of the nicest people we have met and drove us to and from the station (6:30am!!). One of the comfiest places we have stayed and hope we can go back soon.

It is set 33 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park and offers luggage storage space. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Clean, close to the lifts at the top of the hill, great private onsen, lovely owners and comfortable beds.

From the warm greeting upon arrival to the personalized attention and care they showed us, their dedication to providing a memorable experience was evident in every interaction. They were genuinely interested in getting to know their guests and were always ready to assist with any request or inquiry. They provided insightful recommendations for exploring the Nagano region, including off-the-beaten-path destinations and local cultural experiences. The ryokan itself was a haven of tranquility and traditional Japanese charm. The architecture, interior design, and attention to detail created an authentic and inviting atmosphere.The rooms at Shioriya were meticulously clean, and beautifully furnished with traditional elements. The tatami mats, sliding doors, and comfortable futon beds provided an immersive experience into Japanese culture. Additionally, the small homemade breakfast served at Shioriya was a delightful start to each day, featuring fresh ingredients and a personal touch that made it feel like a comforting meal prepared with love.

Providing free private parking, the 1-star guest house is 28 km from The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum. The accommodation features a shared kitchen, and luggage storage for guests. Exceeded expectation. Exceptional location backing into nature. Lovely verandah overlooking rice paddies. Super friendly owners.

One of my favorite stays during my Japan trip. Matsumoto is such a beautiful city, very communal and scenic. I loved my stay at Guesthouse Azumaya. The owner, Shotaro, is such a gent and very fun to talk to. He knows all the best spots around the area and was very accommodating. A special shoutout to Nozomi also, he is a very sweet boy and looks after the guests well. The hostel has the cheapest washing machine from any other hostel I've visited, and it runs completely off an honorary system whereby you put 100 yen into a coin box. There's shampoo, body wash and conditioner stocked in the shower, there's also a good hairdryer, all free of charge. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are just the right size to store all your belongings. The wifi is fast and reliable, perfect for any digital nomads. I felt very comfortable and welcomed, I would definitely stay here again.

Probably my favorite hostel while traveling in Japan. It's located very close to Matsumoto castle, as well as a lot of restaurants. The staff was extremely nice, making me feel welcome from start to finish. There is a bar and communal location, perfect for socializing, especially if you're a solo traveler.
