United StatesThis place was a total surprise. The photographs at first looked downright scary, but it was one of the only places available for my dates. The moment I walked through the front door, I was greeted by Daphne and her big smile. The ground floor is spacious with a large kitchen and a very clean dining area. This whole hostel is so spotless. I do not know how she keeps it so clean. The bathrooms are always stocked with the necessities, the sheets and duvet are all white, the wood throughout is gleaming. I stayed in the female dorm and one whole wall is windows looking out. It's so pretty! The window coverings provide a great shield for the morning sunlight. Daphne is always around and if she's not, her phone number is posted throughout the hostel so she is always available to you. This is a historic building, so do not expect the floors to be soundless. To me one of the special things about staying here was that you really got to see what the inside of one of these old homes looked like.

So close to the central station as well as bus station as well!! Although many “student hostels” advertise as such, this truly was a youth hostel. It felt safe and I was very comfortable sharing a room with at least 18 others. The bar seemed okay too and it was fairly easy to make friends.
