Great location, everything is brand new and clean. Fully equipped kitchen which is great. The dorm had AC at night and curtains. The staff are very welcoming and helpful - thank you Ronald, Aron and Marimar!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in Centroamérica. Not only do dorms have a bathroom but also every bed has curtains, lights, a little fan and a socket! Ana is always willing to help and give you good advice about places and how to get there. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped and the common area has games and a ping-pong table, apart from some cute little lizards strolling around the garden. Great hostel!

The owner was marvelous. He gave lots of great recommendations for several activities and does not want to sell tours like lots of others. Just perfect!!! This made our trip perfect and I highly recommend the hostel for everyone who goes to La Fortuna. The rooms were clean and we had a nice balkony to sit outside. It is a great hostel to get to know others.

Absolutely awesome hostel located in a good location in La Fortuna. The volunteers, especially Kristiane and Lily, were extremely friendly and helpful. The hostel offers a wide range of tours and activities which are a lot of fun. Rooms are relatively spacious, mine even had AC and a fan, and the bathrooms are very nice and clean. The bar which is open daily is a lot of fun and the hostel is very social and it's easy to make new friends. I loved my stay here!

I highly recommend this lodge, especially because you can spot sloths right in the garden! Imagine spending dozens of dollars on a tour and possibly not seeing one, but here, on my second day around noon, I saw a sloth for free, up in the trees. I didn’t have binoculars with me, but the kind lodge owner brought out a high-powered camera, and I got to watch the sloth move and sleep up close. If you love peace and quiet, falling asleep to the sound of a babbling stream, and waking up to birdsong, this place is perfect. Plus, you can use the kitchen for free, and it’s super clean. Best of all, everyone here is incredibly kind and welcoming

We had an absolutely amazing time at Blackout Hostel. Most notably, the location and the staff/people. Just a couple minutes walk to the city center with nice restaurants, bakeries, and shops. Also about 10-15 minutes walk to this spectacular waterfall where everyone goes to jump off the rocks and swing from the Tarzan rope. Tony, the owner, was so kind and welcoming. We spent every night chatting in the main room with the other guests and even went out all together at the club next door. If you're looking for a fun time focused on experiences, this is the place to be.

The hostel is excellent. The breakfast is really complete, the staff/reception are great, really polite, informative and helpful. The area of the hostel is amazing, the pool is nice, drinks are tasty.
