I like the general atmosphere of the place, and I feel like the common spaces are nicely done to create interaction. There is also a working area you can use if you are teleworking for instance. The air conditioning is put on at night which makes it super nice to sleep. Each bed has its own privacy with curtains, a plug to charge your phone and a light. There is a shared bathroom per dorm. I paid extra for breakfast that was prepared by one of the staff. She was adorable, asked me what I would prefer and made me a different thing each morning. If you are staying more than one night, you can use the laundry service as well for some extra dollars. When I arrived, the person that did my check in also told me about all the different activities to do in and around La Fortuna, including three nice free spots like El Salto (rope swing into the river) or the hot springs. The hostel is located 5-10min walk to the city park, has plenty of small shops, markets and restaurants around and has a few parking spots if you are with a car.

The staff here are the best. They are friendly and very knowledgeable. The owner will go the extra mile to make your stay as good as possible. Comfortable bed, hot shower, and great location that is right in town but off the main streets and quiet. The kitchen is clean and well equipped with everything. Highly recommend staying here. Great value.

Lena and Tony were excellent hosts and extremely helpful with picking excursions. The place was in a great location and after receiving a fan in the room the temperature was good too.

Honestly, this has been one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. It was very clean and comfortable. I totally love the pool bar idea, where Frannie the barista does her magic of creating such a lovely and unforgettably cozy atmosphere. 10/10 definitely coming back next time and calling my friends with me!

Chris, the owner, is so helpful! he helped me figure out the best tours for my circumstances, and even offered a lower price than any of the tour places around town. the beds are comfortable. some of the dorm rooms even have hot showers (8 bed/ room). there is a swimming pool, restaurant, bar, and hammocks. it’s a great place to meet friends, especially for solo travelers. Saturday nights are bingo nights at the bar. so much fun! it is central, easy to access all the restaurants and stores. there are lockers in the big dorm rooms (8 beds/room), but not in the small dorms (4 beds/room), but did not pose a problem for me.
