I booked the 8 mixed dorm with a balcony (i can highly recommend the balcony - 6 of the beds are single beds, but 2 are double beds…I luckily to get a double for no extra $. We figured that it was possibly because myself and the other lucky person booked for the longest periods of time. But the balcony is great either way). Everything about this place is amazing. I actually cant fathom the value. It felt like a hotel. Bed’s were changed every couple of days, it was always clean, the beds are very comfortable and the cubicle bed set up really cut down on noise (and they give you really good 3DM earplugs - the ones that construction workers use). The location is unbeatable. The rooftop bar has a great view of the acropolis. As a bonus I also made lots of friends very quickly.

The privacy of curtains on the beds! The bathrooms were also very clean and had body-wash and soap to use! Also the breakfast was great!

Baloo Hostel is truly a gem in Athens! The whole place is designed with so much love and attention to detail – it feels both stylish and cozy at the same time. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel instantly at home; they’re not only incredibly helpful but also some of the kindest, loveliest people you’ll meet. The location is great for exploring Athens. At first glance, the neighborhood might seem a little rough around the edges, but I never once felt unsafe – in fact, it added to the authentic local vibe. What makes Baloo even more special is the great program and activities they offer, which make it so easy to meet people and feel part of a community. It’s the kind of hostel you arrive at as a traveler and leave as a friend. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Athens – you’ll feel welcomed, inspired, and right at home.
