I stayed here for two weeks and had a great experience! The place is super comfortable — the air conditioning, water, and Wi-Fi all worked perfectly the whole time. Both hosts are really friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcome from the start. One of them is even a surf instructor, so you can also take surf lessons right there at a very affordable price. Definitely recommended!

A very social hostel with a great atmosphere and a great staff. The manager is very kind and helpful, he gives us many tips on things to do on the area and takes us to surfing lessons in the morning if we want. In the evening we all gather around a tasty family dinner cooked by the staff. There's even a skate park in the hostel ! Good location at 15min by walk from town-center and close to several beach in a quiet stress ! Bathrooms and dorms are clean with fans above each bed or AC. I highly recommend this place !

My stay at Little Bay was simply amazing. You feel at home in the rooms surrounded by the beautiful garden. It’s not a big hotel/hostel, but if you like cozy places where you can hang out with locals, go for it! Ruwan made it so convenient, and what was supposed to be a 2 night stay for me, turned into 6 more nights! Trust me, you will not want to leave and will always ask to stay “one more night”. Ruwan is always ready to help. He loves to hang out with his guests and show them around Arugam bay. He knows so much about Sri Lanka, I think he got tired of all my questions, but seriously you will learn so much. Hands down my best stay in Arugam bay and in Sri Lanka in general!! I stayed at Waypoint three times during the season. The staff members were extremely helpful and a lovely bunch of people. I felt like home here and made loads of friends. Sometimes there were movie nights and hostel parties. Dorm rooms and bathrooms were clean. The location is very central with access to the main street - a lot of shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Safe location for female solo travellers.

What makes this hostel so special are definitely the owners. Hansi and Akila are the lovliest people and created a place where everybody feels welcome and like family right from the start. The Hostel is rather small which is why there is a sense of community which I really enjoyed. The facilities are basic, but you have everything you need to have the best time in Arugam Bay.

It had only just opened its doors and we were met with the warmest welcome from the manager who couldn’t do enough for us. Always went out of his way to accommodate us - sharing extra phone data with us, allowing late check - out due to work commitments, updating us to the air-con room because the fan room was under renovations but with no extra charge. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you so so much

    Agra is the best hostel in Arugam Bay. Nalaka is such an amazing host, he gets to know everyone in the hostel and makes it feel like a home. The breakfast and coffee is 10/10 and the family dinner on a Friday is a great way to meet everyone. It’s a lovely chill but social vibe. I loved it so much I came back a second time for a week.

    Little lagoon hostel was the perfect little get away at the end of Arugam bay. Great location and a wonderful part of Sri Lanka. The owners and staff were extremely nice and even gave us a little gift because we were on our honeymoon. which was extra lovely :) Definitely worth a visit if your in Arugam Bay.

    My best hostel on my trip through Sri Lanka. Nalaka and his crew are great hosts. The included breakfast is delicious and they will help you find tours, surf lessons or onward travel. Great little social hostel. I extended several times because I enjoyed the hostel-vibe and arugam bay totally.

    Agra hostel is one of the best hostel i stayed in while traveling for over 7 weeks in Sri Lanka. The owner is one of a kind and made such good memories that will stay for life! The dorms are clean and the beds are really comfortable, close to the main road and the beach but still quiet so you can enjoy your rest after a long day of enjoying Arugam Bay.

    Best hostel I’ve stayed so far in Sri Lanka as a solo backpacker. I loved the low key location away from the hustle and bustle. It was only 10 mins walk into town and with bicycles provided aswell as a travel option it was well worth it to stay here. The staff are all very lovely and love a chat. They kept the space very clean and cozy for all of us staying there. It felt like a home rather than a pit stop which I loved. I’d most definitely look forward to coming back on my future trips!
