This is definitely a social hostel – within an hour, Thara, Chooty, and Tutu will feel like your best friends. They’re just the kindest, most fun people and truly make the place what it is. The treehouses are magical – tucked into the jungle and if you’re lucky, you might even spot elephants from your balcony. The dorms are comfy and clean enough, with mosquito nets, fans, an epic view and a cute little balcony to chill. There are tons of common areas and always something going on: sunrise hikes to Pidurangala, secret sunset spots, lake swims, safaris… you’ll never be bored. And the team is always around – they truly care about the people staying here, and it shows. The price is kind of ridiculous (in a good way) – it even includes breakfast! Lunch and dinner are cooked and shared together too, if you want and the food is next-level delicious. It’s close to the road so getting around is super easy – tuk tuks from the guys, bikes, scooters or just calling a PickMe. I ended up extending my stay longer than planned and only left because I had a flight but I’ll 100% be back!!

I arrived at this hostel to spend one night and ended up 4 and leaving was completely heartbroken 🥹❤️‍🩹It is a family hostel where I felt like one of the family, I am very very happy and grateful to have been lucky enough to find such a ✨special ✨place to which I will definitely return and of course recommend, because thanks to the hosts my experience in Sigiriya was spectacular🌄. Everything was perfect! It was such a wonderful place to start our trip. The food was absolutely delicious, and the rooms were super comfortable. The bar was such a cozy and fun spot to hang out, and the staff were incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful. The cooking class is also an absolute must-do and highly recommended. We’ll definitely come back again!

Honestly one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at during my time in Sri Lanka. The place is clean and comfortable, breakfast was always delicious, and the one dinner I had there turned out to be the best meal of my trip — tasty, generous, and great quality. What really made it special was the people. Maliya was so kind and helpful, always there if I needed anything. He even took me to a beautiful sunset spot nearby and walked me to the bus stop when I checked out. Those small gestures really meant a lot and made the stay unforgettable. Highly recommend this place!

I had an amazing experience at Sigiri Serenity Hostel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel right at home with their warm hospitality and helpful local tips. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and surrounded by beautiful nature, making it the perfect peaceful getaway near Sigiriya Rock. The common areas are great for relaxing or meeting fellow travelers, and the home-cooked meals were absolutely delicious — some of the best food I had in Sri Lanka! The location is ideal: quiet, yet just a short bike ride away from Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala. Whether you're solo, with friends, or a couple, this hostel has everything you need for a memorable and comfortable stay. Highly recommended!

Costha is the most genuine and kind soul I have met in Sri Lanka. He goes out of his way to make you comfortable at his place and takes you to all the local places in the area. He also used to be a tour guide and safari driver so he has extensive knowledge of Sigiriya and the surrounding places. His family is also super welcoming and his mom cooks the best food. It was an honour to stay with Costha’s place. I really liked how cozy and homey the place felt. There is a dorm room and there is a social bar hangout area, all built by Costha himself. You can really feel the vision and the passion he has for the place.

The breakfast was excellent, and my vegan request was happily accommodated. The family was incredibly kind and helpful, always making sure I had everything I needed. They also gave great recommendations for activities and sights in the area.

    The common area is very well put together, gives homie-vibes and it's very prone to meet other travelers in the hostel. The staff of the hostel, also, promote a good integration for everybody, organizing certain activities in group that everyone can participate in, like going to the lake, watching sunset in a secret place or doing BBQ Best hostel for backpackers and solo travelers no doubt Ah, and the food is amazing. Excellent really
