Location’s great, really close to Taipei Main Station which makes it so easy to go around the city. Bed was comfortable and clean. Common area on the top floor was a nice place to chill.

ALL. I can’t believe staying in a hostel can be so comfortable. Spotless clean, spacious bathroom, bed, and common area. Location is near to Taipei Main Station. Incredible staff, they all are so friendly and helpful. After check out, I put my luggage there and when I collected it they allowed me to take shower as I was so sweaty and will continue with a long flight. Thanks for being so considerate! This place is also very safe, everything has to use access card. I dropped my rain cover and I asked them and they helped check in the cctv to find out about this. They also accommodated me for lower bed, but their upper bed can be easily accessed by a wide stairs (not ladder), so easy to climb up. Overall, highly recommended hostel!

Staying here really felt like they considered everything that you might need - free laundry, toiletries, the powder room, biscuits, everything! The bed was so comfortable too! I would love to just stay here to chill honestly. Plus points since it’s well-lit and they really made the ceiling look so pretty :) Putting it here too in case someone needs it for reference: they have self-check out if you want to check out before 7am! Really helpful since my flight was very early. Thank you so much! I’ll stay here again if I go back to Taipei 😊

This makes a fantastic budget base in Taipei. Located right in the popular Ximending tourist area, close to the metro, there are tons of shops and restaurants around. There's a convenient 7-Eleven across the street for any snacking needs. The bunk beds were comfortable, with curtains for privacy, and there was a good amount of storage space. The dorms were quiet and peaceful. The staff was polite and despite their limited English we were able to communicate. There is a small kitchen for basic food needs and the cafe area on the main floor is quaint. I didn't meet anyone during my stay and it's not a hotel conducive for that, but that wasn't my intention on this trip. Given the price and location, this is a good choice and I would return.

There's so much that I love about this hostel, I don't even know where to begin! Though it's near one of the farther exits of Taipei Main Station (at the underground mall zone), it's centrally and conveniently located: just a few minutes' walk from an exit with an elevator, and also near the airport MRT. The location is great: lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby, including a 7-11 right next to the building. You can even walk to Dadaocheng in 10-15 minutes. The hostel is beautiful; it's a building with a history. I booked a bed in a dormitory room; the beds were properly partitioned — almost like I was staying in a capsule hotel. Each bed also comes with enough sockets for you to charge your devices, and there are partitioned shelves for your belongings, including a locker for valuables. Luckily, I had quiet roommates, so I was able to get a good night's sleep during my stay. Also, the shared facilities are clean and well-maintained; the common area is so cozy and lovely! On days when I was too tired to travel, it was nice just chilling in the common area and taking in the ambiance, or browsing through the infographic panels (about the building's history, as well as helpful info for first-time Taiwan travelers, like must-see attractions and must-eats). For breakfast, you get vouchers that you can use at four nearby partner restaurants. All serve local cuisine (though one also has Western food like sandwiches, in case Taiwanese food isn't to your liking), so breakfast gives you the opportunity to try Taiwan's delicious food! As a fan of Taiwanese food, especially breakfast food like shaobing and danbing, I was very happy to have tried a different partner restaurant for breakfast each day. The staff are very friendly and helpful; I appreciated all their help. I got so much value for money for my stay, and I genuinely enjoyed just spending time at Meander 1948.

    Easy to reach from the airport, within 3 minutes walking from Taipei Main station. Very very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were modern too. The bunk beds were surprisingly spacious! I could fit my suitcase there (only standing up though) but there was some separate storage space for suitcases as well. Friendly and helpful staff, had a lovely time there and the hostel kept me safe during earthquakes..! :)

    Best hostel I've ever been to. Incredibly clean, amazing personel, great location, comfortable beds and good instalations. I absolutely recommend it, plus it's close to a Red Line Metro station, which will take you to Taipei City Centre directly.

    If you are a solo traveler and new to Asia like me Meander Taipei hostel is the place to be, to mingle and meet fellow travelers - the staff is exceptionally nice and goes out of their way to accommodate and make you feel at home far away from home! Super comfy beds, own curtain for your bunk bed for some extra privacy, the strongest/ best showers I have experienced on my travels ❤️and great location when exploring Taipei! Thank you team Meander for a wonderful stay ! I will be back !

    This is my wife's review: I loved everything. A great location very close to the metro station and a bike-sharing station too. The facilities offer everything you need for a good and safe stay (in a hostel). The beds were so comfortable and everything was working just fine. The shared bathroom was super clean. It really exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it, especially for a woman/girl traveling by herself.
