The owner was super cool about that and even helped me to sort out my situation and invited me for a chat and some tea. He is the sweetest person and has a lot of advice to offer. At the hostel, the rooms include a desk and a balcony with a mountain view. Featuring a shared bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer, rooms at Backpackers Hostel also feature a city view. All rooms have a safety deposit box. Kasun and his wife are super friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast. Nice view from upper floor.

This was the best hostel we’ve stayed at in Sri Lanka! We met so many friends here and continued travelling with them. The staff were wonderful and made it very easy for us to plan activities and socialise with other people. The dorms are clean, beds have curtains, the shower has warm water, the breakfasts were delicious and the hostel’s location is superb! The staff are very friendly and really look out for you! Someone in our group left a camera behind (which we only noticed once they told us) and they organised to transport it to Negombo for us at almost no cost!

The view here is incredible. Dreamville is nestled in the mountains, so you have a perfect view of the landscapes of Ella, including a gorgeous waterfall. You wake up to absolute serenity, and the property has lots of places to just chill out and enjoy the view. The beds are kind of open air, which I loved because you can draw the curtain in the morning and you're immediately greeted by this unbelievable view. The temperature is perfect too - Ella is never cold or hot, so the blanket that Dreamville provides is perfect for nighttime. Beds are super comfy! Breakfast was lovely as well, and you eat on the terrace that overlooks the whole property. Sham, the owner, is so lovely and did everything she could to make my stay wonderful, including calling tuktuks for me in the middle of the night! The only thing I'll note is that the place is about 30 minutes outside of Ella on a very bumpy tuktuk ride. I loved being away from the main part of Ella, but you might want to factor in some extra time and cost for travel (costs are minimal, about 2000 SLR one-way into town). The wifi works really well, but doesn't quite reach the bunks, so you'll probably want to use it in one of the common spaces. My only regret is not staying longer and spending more time hanging around Dreamville!

Only cons is that its far from the ella city, still its a must stay hostel in my opinion if you are staying in ella, I will surely come back to this place.

Courtesy at its best.....we had some problems with the snoring of a guest ha ha , but owner shifted us to expensive dorm without any extra charge. Thanks to him, would love to visit again..
