Taupo is an absolute mecca for all things outdoors – including hiking the famous Tongariro crossing, trout fishing, skydiving, jet boating, white water rafting, mountain biking and sailing on the Great Lake with the hostel's yacht 'Fearless'. Great staff and premisses, comfy beds and very good location. Free parking just outside.

The centrally located Rock Solid Backpackers Rotorua offers free WiFi, a neighboring rock-climbing wall and a spacious guest lounge including a tour desk, a billiards table and a cinema. It is just 5 minutes' walk from the Rotorua Visitors Centre and bus stops. The property is within walking distance to a weekly night market. We stayed in the private room which was such a good size. Had a tv, mini fridge, kettle, fan, storage space, comfortable bed & decent size ensuite. Was quiet, lots of communal areas, washing machine on site, nice staff & so close to all the main attractions. Definitely recommend staying here!
