Company information

Mons will probably evoke WW1 for most British readers. It has however been witness to many more battles than that, and if it remembers the presence of British and German troops in 1914, it is also proud of vestiges dating back to the Romans. Mons is also a town of tradition and it's celebrations of “Lumeçon” and “Le Car d'Or” highlight these traditions.

Hotel Saint Georges is located in the heart of the historic city of Mons in an extremely characteristic, quite and lively area within short walk distance to the Grande place and all sites. Our Flats features 16 luxurious and fully equipped apartments and rooms, each specially adapted to our guests’ requirements. This unique serviced-apartments concept in the area is ideal for a length of a night stay – 1 week – several months – a year… Our objective is to provide our guests with a «home-away-from-home. Our continental breakfast buffet, made of fresh and homemade products is open from 07:00 to 10:00 (during the week) and 07:30 to 10:30 (during the week-end). Our cosy and functional apartments offers a bedroom, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, cable TV, free internet conection, and a garden. On entering your charming room, you will immediately sense its special intimate atmosphere that makes you feel like being in your own home. Each detail has been passionately chosen.

Neighbourhood information

Mons Townhall In Gothic style, having been built between 1458 and 1477. The Belfry It stands 270 feet high. It is listed as a World Heritage Site Unesco. The Collegiate Church of Sainte-Waudru 15 th to 17 th century - Gothic style of Brabant. It contains some splendid 16 th c. alabaster statues by Jacques Du Broeucq. The treasury of the Collegiate Church is one of the most beautiful collections of gold and silverware in Belgium (12 th - 19 th c.) Decorative Arts Museum Francois Duesberg This is an authentic decorative arts museum with not only a prestigious collection of clocks with exotic themes which is unique in the world, but also exceptional gilded bronzes, porcelain, crockery, gold and silverware, bookbinding and unusual rare objects. Van Gogh's house Van Gogh lived for some time in Mons before moving on to Provence. His house, an authentic and preserved environment, now houses a permanent exhibition of reproductions and an audio-visual show in various languages (EN, F, NL, D).
