Balmoral House is a Hotel Alternative - 4 Stars Accommodation Establishment, conveniently located in the CENTER of HISTORIC DOWNTOWN between the "Delta Hotel" and the "Sheraton Hotel" just two blocks away from the water front and it is surrounded by some of the most interesting architecture to be found in historic St. John's. Captivating in every way, Balmoral House exudes culture, class and style. Take a 10 minute walk to the West and you're in the center of shopping, dining and St. John's nightlife area. Take a 15 minute walk to the East and you are in a National Park with some of the best walking trails Canada's East coast has to offer
Balmoral House is one of the most preferred Hotel-alternative accommodation establishment situated in the heart of the historic Downtown St. John's, providing quality and comfort with unique experience to visitors from around the world, since 1994. Balmoral was the first bed and breakfast establishment officially licensed by the City of St. John's and the provincial authorities of Newfoundland. Balmoral is a Victorian townhouse with spacious rooms and spectacular views of the old St. John's, Signal Hill, Cabot Tower and the magnificent Atlantic Ocean. The building was constructed in the late 1800's as a private residence of a British merchant family. Completely restored to its original condition the structure retains its original features, ornate glass windows, wood trim, plaster moldings, hardwood floors, very high ceilings and an unusual circular wall. Antique furnishings and local art work, enhances the comfortable and elegant ambiance of the house.
Balmoral House is centrally located with The Rooms, a cultural facility, located just behind our establishment. Numerous restaurants, art galleries, St. John's harbour, George Street, Qudi Vidi lake, Johnson Geo Center and Signal hill are all within walking distance.
