heureka.kurdějov vinařství s.r.o. founded in 2018. We want to discover the lost wine customs of Kurdějov. How did the name of the Žabinec boarding house actually originate? In some villages in South Moravia, such a custom is maintained, which is based on folk tradition. On the night of May 1st, witches are burning and at the same time road signs appear. The local youth is having fun and at night they will write you a message or a nickname in front of the house. It's a long tradition and the messages are mostly funny and cheerful. One day, such an inscription also appeared at our bridge. Žabinec. The frogieland was called the local part of the playground, where there is groundwater, and also many frogs. We liked Žabinec and it has remained as our name. Inadvertently and unknowingly, the village boys came up with a name for our boarding house. And we thank them for that.

South Moravia. Beautiful nature, excellent wine and nice people. You will experience all this in our pension. We look forward to welcoming you. Pension Zabinec - living with wine We are in the center of the wine village Kurdějov, right on the cycle path through the André region. Not far from us lies Hustopeče, Lednice-Valtice area, Pálava or Mikulov. From our pension you can take nice trips for swimming to Aqualand Moravia or to the Brno Zoo. Everything is close to us. We are behind the water behind the "bridge". More precisely, we are behind the Kurdějov brook, over which our "bridge" leads. You can't just miss the "bridge". It has a railing decorated with artistic ironwork, metal grapes and leaves. Big wheels like an old ladder, inserted into the railing frame. Just follow it to begin your wine adventure…

Neighbourhood information

Kurdějov is a nice small village with lots of potential for the future. Historicaly, it was known as one of the biggest wine area in Czech land, but it had suffered downturn during second half of 20.century. Nowadays, village representatives want to restore the renome, and with a help of historical landmarks (church from 14.century Kostel svatého Jana Křtitele) and building infrastucture to make tourist business growing. Kurdějov historicaly known as Curdieiow/Gurdau is regarded as one of among several lost villages in Czech Republic, where original inhabitants were moved out after WWII. We want restart and build new future so come to us and "HEUREKA GURDAU ... EXPLORE KURDĚJOV"
