Puisserguier est un village médiéval de la période romane comptant parmi les 99 villages en circulade du sud de la France. Au Moyen Age, le village fortifié était une étape d’un chemin de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle. Dans le coeur historique, vous pourrez admirer son château féodal (en cours de restauration) du XIème et XIIème siècle au centre de ruelles étroites datant de la même époque. Le château fut pris par Simon de Montfort durant la croisade contre l’hérésie cathare en 1209. L’église St Paul, édifiée à partir du XIème siècle, recèle deux tableaux du peintre régional Jacques Gamelin illustrant la vie de saint Paul.
