This is a private, quiet home on small gravel road. It is the last house on the path, has sweeping views of the countryside and on clear days you can see the Pyrenees mountains. There is a hiking path directly from the home that leads through a small forest to a lake with a medieval church that was the site for pilgrims to bathe and where miracles have been performed.
I am originally from New York City, and I have travelled extensively before finding my home in the Gers. I also offer tours of the area, please ask when you book your reservation and I can arrange for visits to medieval villages, historic sites, markets and wine or Armagnac domains.
Bassoues is a well preserved historic bastide village from the 11th century. It has a vibrant local culture with antique shops, a Sunday market, art galleries and a wonderful bakery.
