The house is a grade 2 listed property, which has been largely unaltered since the early part of the 20th century, and was lived in continuously from 1946 – 2014 by a Mrs Yolande Shrubb. Prior to that it was a children’s hospital during the war and prior to that a home to several of Tiverton’s great and good including 3 of its Mayors! We have been restoring it for the past couple of years, and are attempting to keep it as much in character as possible. In it’s hay day it would have been staffed by numerous servants, who lived in the back half of the house. There are many open fires, which we use frequently, and lots of space to sit and relax. The grounds are extensive and include formal areas, a large walled garden, and 15 acres of woodland and fields, some huge old specimen trees and a little pond.
