Louise lives in the farmhouse next door with her husband, daughter, a friendly dog and a cat. Louise is an author and an English tutor. She gives her guests privacy - while she is available to meet and greet and assist guests as required. Their pet hens may greet you.

Property information

Hill Farm has unrivalled views across farmland as far as Snowdonia. It is a working farm, and the property is set down a long drive surrounded by fields. Corbet Wood and the Shropshire Way are on the doorstep. The property is around 400 years old, full of rustic charm and with outbuildings made from stone from the local quarry. While it is a rural and quiet place to stay, Shrewsbury is around 8 miles away and accessible by local bus or train (request stop at Yorton, one mile away). The guest accommodation has its own entrance, kitchenette, shower room, double bedroom and television. Tea, coffee and sugar are provided. The private shower room is on the ground floor, and the bedroom is on the second floor. Free parking is immediately outside the property for up to 2 cars. A cot is available for a baby/toddler. No pets allowed and no smoking on the premises.

Neighbourhood information

Clive is a picturesque village close to Shrewsbury, Whitchurch and Ellesmere. Guests can step out of the farmhouse straight onto a footpath to Corbet Wood, Grinshill and the Shropshire Way. There is a train station in the next village at Yorton, one mile from the farmhouse, and a regular bus service to Shrewsbury and Whitchurch. The Red Lion at Myddle is a gastro-pub, 2 miles away, and The New Inn at Hadnall, just opposite the local store is also 2 miles away. The New Inn at Baschurch is around 5 miles away. Local visitor attractions include Hawkstone Park, Attingham Park, The Quarry, The Dana (Shrewsbury prison), Alderford Lake and Sabrina boat trips on the River Seven.
