This detached seafront house has glorious sea views and direct beach access. Saltwater has a super first floor deck area with weather-aged loungers for relaxing and appreciating the uninterrupted panoramic views across the Solent. Downstairs the comfortable and bright living rooms have full length glass sliding doors which give onto the fully enclosed south facing garden, and the cosy kitchen has a gas-fired Aga. The grassy garden has an outdoor shower area and table, chairs and parasol for al fresco entertaining. Beyond the garden gate is the foreshore with lovely coastal walks and far-stretching beach. The four bedrooms are split between up and downstairs, with a family bathroom on each floor too. Saltwater is on a quiet, private road and within a few minutes walk of East Wittering village centre, either along the seafront or through the village roads. Parking for three cars on the driveway. Sleeps 8. WiFi. No smoking. Sorry, no pets.

Neighbourhood information

East and West Wittering and Bracklesham are about eight miles south of Chichester. The villages are on the edge of Chichester Harbour which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is criss-crossed by many coastal paths, leafy lanes, mudflats and dappled ways on its extensive 74km2 of inland and coastal habitat. The beaches of East and West Wittering and Bracklesham Bay are adjacent to the sand dunes, salt marshes and flowing tides of East Head, and a little further north is Apuldram and Dell Quay marina where the hidden gem Crown & Anchor pub can be found. Activities nearby Watersports and sailing at Chichester Marina and other local coastal spots. Golf, fishing, horse-riding and sea-swimming. Walking and nature surround us. About the neighbourhood Chichester is one of the most well-preserved Georgian cities in the UK, with its centre sitting within the famous Roman walls. The four pedestrianised streets, North, South, East and West converge on Market Cross and offer a comprehensive range of shops, bars and restaurants. The arts are well catered for as Chichester is home to the internationally acclaimed Festival Theatre and smaller Minerva Theatre. Pallant House Art Gallery exhibits modern contemporary art with a high-profile permanent collection and seasonal exhibitions. The city hosts a remarkable amount of celebrated music and arts festivals centred around the Cathedral. Fishbourne Palace with its Roman mosaic is less than three miles away. Further afield the National Trust’s Uppark House and Petworth House are outstanding, and for younger visitors Peppa Pig World is out towards the New Forest. The beautiful South Downs countryside stretches north of Chichester from Winchester to Eastbourne. The Solent and Chichester Harbour are particularly popular with sailors.
