Our 200 year old Bakery once served the local hamlet and hides behind our home on the edge of a quintessentially English village. A rustic bread oven and exposed beams whisper tales of the building's past. By preserving its original character and adding modern comforts such as a wood burning stove and four poster bed, it offers a truly unique stay. Being a traditionally built cottage, access to the single bedroom is via the main double bedroom. There is a door separating the two bedrooms but you may want to bear this in mind. The bathroom is also accessed the same way. The village shop and local pubs serve excellent food. Historic Nantwich, Chester, The Potteries, Trentham Gardens and Bridgemere are all nearby.
We look forward to welcoming our guests to The Old Bakery. Feel free to give us a knock (back door with fish knocker) when you arrive if you'd like to say hello and ask any questions. I'm Jan and my husband is David and we've lived in our home in Betley for a long time, bringing up our two grown up daughters here. We saw a tiny picture of the house for sale by auction in the local newspaper while visiting my sister in the area. A week later we bought it at auction along with the tumble down Old Bakery and an acre and a half of land. We were thrilled as we drove back home to London because we had a big plan to change our lives. Six weeks later we moved in and we never looked back!
Betley is a beautiful traditional village set in the Cheshire/Staffordshire countryside. There are many high quality eating pubs in the locality and there's an excellent village shop with Post Office within walking distance.
