Whether you are wanting to enjoy a family holiday or a romantic break for two the quiet Hamlet of Sandside located within the Arnside & Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty won’t disappoint. Floor to ceiling windows offer panoramic views of the River Kent estuary & out to the Lake District, watch the ever changing tides, take in some spectacular sunsets. The area boasts a network of footpaths & stunning scenery. The property was completely renovated and opened in January 2022. There is a large balcony on the ground floor with a table & chairs to enjoy outdoor meals during the warmer months. Please note there is a road between the house & the beach therefore traffic noise can be expected. There is a small balcony with 2 chairs & a table on the first floor accessed from the master bedroom. The property can sleep up to 3 children in 2 single beds & 1 cot. Parking is available on the sloping driveway immediately outside the house. Please see last photograph There are stunning walks from the doorstep. Amazing view over the estuary and beyond to the hills of the Lake District. Local grocery shops, pubs and cafes Parking is available by the door please note access is via a short unmade road and parking is on a slope which may not be suitable for elderly or disabled guests. Please see last photo. Alternative parking is available on quarry lane which is a 3 minute walk to the house.
We love walking, cooking and listening to music. Ensuring our guests enjoy a wonderful holiday / break is our top priority. We ask guests to contact us direct at the earliest opportunity to resolve any issues that arise. Please note due to the additional cleaning costs we charge for up to 2 dogs 20 is payable direct.
Across the road to the front of the house you can at low tide access the coastal path (old disused railway line). In one direction this takes you to the coastal village of Arnside featured in the TV series Villages by the Sea. Here you will find a selection of gift shops, bakery, cafes & pubs. From here you can take a train to the lovely coastal village of Grange. In the other direction along the path you can walk into Dallam deer park & up to the village of Beetham to visit the old post office tea rooms, the Wheatsheaf pub or the Heron Corn Mill to take a tour or attend one of the workshops. To the rear of the house is Quarry Lane where a public footpath leads up to Beetham in one direction or the village of Storth where you will find a lovely village shop. Quarry lane is the start of Storth Geotrail which follows a former railway track, the trail is a 3.2 mile route. A short drive takes you to the beautiful Lake District National Park. Take an old steamer from Lakeside across Lake Windermere to Bowness, visit the Haverthwaite Railway & Lakeside aquarium. Enjoy a trip to Cartmels famous L’Enclume or the famous priory.
