Situated in Candidasa/Karangasem, only 80 minutes from the airport, on the East Coast of Bali, our beachfront homey Villa is the perfect place for those wishing for peace and tranquillity. A place to unwind and relax from start to finish. It is fantastic for families and friends and offers 3 large bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms, large kitchen, comfortable lounge with TV, large upstairs terraces for watching the sun go down and our gorgeous infinity swimming pool which is perfect to cool down in on those hot tropical island days! Villa Sanika caters for your every wish, and our friendly professional staff will ensure your stay is unforgettable! Our kitchen is well kitted out and our staff can assist you in acquiring anything you may need for those who may wish to prepare their own meals. Or have our wonderful cook remove that stress and prepare delicious meals for you! Alternatively, if you wish to sample the restaurants in the area, we can arrange and/or direct you. Enjoy what the local village has to offer, with the lovely restaurants in the area, quaint artisan shops, boutiques and casual clothing all available for those who wish to shop. For those wishing to explore the area, various activities can be arranged from deep sea fishing, exploring epic temples, or lounging on a white beach, and breath-taking snorkelling, our staff would be happy to guide you and arrange your transportation. In 2017, my family and I travelled from our home country, South Africa, to visit our dearest friend who had been begging us to come visit and see Bali for several years. We fell head over heels in love with the island, and so the first chapter of our new life journey began! In 2022, we travelled once again to beautiful Bali, and booked in as guests at Villa Sanika. While sipping cocktails on the upper terrace looking over at the waves crashing on the beach a mere stones throw away, the traditional Balinese temple to our left and a rice paddy on our right and breathed a sigh of absolute bliss and relaxation, we began to wonder if the owners of Villa Sanika would be interested in selling. We were flying back to South Africa shortly, so we asked our friend to contact the owners and enquire about the possibility of a sale. Imagine our surprise and joy when our friend texted and said, “Yes they are interested in selling!” I wish to take this opportunity in thanking the previous owners, Afrida and Jeroen for entrusting us and blessing us with this piece of heaven! The rest they say is history and in 2023 we became the proud owners of this amazing piece of paradise! Blessed and humbled, we started our second chapter of our new life Journey! For returning guests please be assured that you will receive the same quality of service that you received with your prior visit/s. Our wonderful staff have not changed and are eagerly awaiting your return!
Karangasem represents the 'old' Bali, with it's lush paddy fields, against the backdrop of mountains and volcanos, interspersed by little villages, temples and markets. There is a 'surprise' behind every corner; a traditional weaving facility, a procession of beautifully dressed men and women on their way to the temple, the teenage girl selling freshly caught fish on the road side, etc! Candidasa is the pearl in the Karangasem crown; a quaint little fishing village in a beautiful bay, with a unique mix of shops and restaurants (including a wonderful jazz cafe) to enrich the experience, however well shy of the overcrowded tourist scene in the south. And with plenty of activities to choose from (snorkelling, diving, rafting, fishing, hiking, motorbiking, elephant zoo, paragliding, to name but a few).
