Tuamgraney is the home of St. Cronan's 10th Century Church, oldest church in continuous use in Ireland, also home to the famous novelist Edna O'Brien & the great Historian Edward McLysaght. East Clare Memorial Park is situated in heart of village and there are also some nice scenic walks nearby together with Lough Derg. The famous monastic site Iniscealtra - Holy Island is also nearby and well worth a visit which can be arranged for you. The new Inis Cealtra Interpretive Centre located in Mountshannon is now open and well worth a visit. There are nice traditional pubs and restaurants and East Clare is famous for traditional music. Local people are very friendly and will welcome you with 'open arms' There are nice safe playgrounds for children dotted around East Clare. Lough Derg is nearby for a refreshing swim. East Clare Marked Walk Way passes by our door maps and recommendations available. Moylussa, the highest mountain in Clare is nearby and you can enjoy a hike and the wonderful scenery from the summit. We have special interest in the Diaspora and enjoy helping people to trace their roots. We have special interest in Hurling, Rugby, Golf and all sports so we enjoy conversation with our guests.
