Sant'Eufemia Lamezia ( Santafhémia in Calabrese ) is one of the municipal districts of the city of Lamezia Terme . It was an autonomous municipality until 1968 , the year of unification with Nicastro and Sambiase for the birth of the new municipality, of which it is the third most populous district with about 5,000 inhabitants. In the territory of the former municipality there is the main airport of Calabria and one of the first in the Southfor passenger traffic , one of the main railway stations of the Southern Tyrrhenian railway , a motorway junction of the A2 , the 2nd Aviation Regiment of the "Sirio" Army and the headquarters of Unioncamere Calabria.
