Sunset Valley Holiday Houses is a collection of beautiful traditional Malay houses, most of which were found on Langkawi Island, purchased from their owners, dismantled and then re-constructed on-site with modern kitchens and bathrooms. Sunset Valley is located in the centre of the island at the foot of the tallest mountain in Langkawi, Gunung Raya. The property overlooks gorgeous rice-paddies with the island’s oldest geological formation, Gunung Matchincang, the first part of South-East Asia to rise from the seabed in the Cambrian period more than half a billion years ago, in the distance. Spectacular sun-sets are guaranteed with this marvelous backdrop. If you are looking for peace and tranquility and yearn to commune with nature in a lovely green landscaped environment, Sunset Valley Holiday Houses is the perfect place for your next vacation. There are delightful common areas for total relaxation including a stunning fully-tiled swimming-pool. This beautiful pool affords sensational views and plenty of room for sun-bathing on the surrounding slate-paving. Sun lounges together with a large sun-umbrella and a dining table and chairs make this a perfect spot to relax. Please note that Air Conditioning is an option for an extra fee of RM 25 per unit per day.

Our beautiful gardens and surroundings are designed to allow an ecological balance with the result that there are remarkably few mosquitoes, as our resident geckos and tokays keep them in check. The native trees and flowers attract many birds, squirrels and occasional amazing Asian lemurs that glide from tree to tree. Bird watchers and nature lovers can find much to observe with frogs, monitor lizards, skinks, horn-bills, orioles, azure kingfishers, drongos, white-breasted sea-eagles, brahminy kites, cattle-egrets and many other species frequently spotted here in Sunset Valley. We also have 2 very friendly dogs and 3 gorgeous cats on the property. Sunset Valley is not a hotel with full service facilities. Instead we offer delightful self-catering holiday houses where you can “do your own thing” without interruption. If your stay is for four days or more we will change your towels every 2-3 days and your bed-sheets once a week. We will also thoroughly clean the houses at the end of every rental, and weekly if you stay for one week or longer. In the meantime you will find cleaning detergents and brushes in your house should you need to use them. If you would like us to clean your house(s) more often, we will do so for a small extra fee.

Langkawi is a beautiful archipelago of 99 islands with many scenic bays and beaches. You can find your own pristine private beach by driving there or on one of the many boat tours on offer. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants and activities you can enjoy to fill your days, some of which you really should not miss. Please talk to us for ideas and/or bookings. We are happy to help.
