Old Forge (Stara kovačnica) is a traditional Serbian house dating from the late 19th century. It has been adapted meticulously to preserve tradition and incorporate modern amenities for our guests' comfort. Natural materials and building techniques from 100 years ago give it an authentic look and feel.

Carefully chosen furnishings are bound to spark your imagination and illustrate the property's 100 year-old history from its beginnings as a family dwelling to a blacksmith & farrier’s workshop in the second half of the 20th century to its latest reinvention, this time as a holiday home.

That said, you'll find it has all the mod cons for a 21st century stay.
The natural beauty of Golubac will mesmerize you. Just one walk along the Golubac Riverside and you’ll forever fall in love with our town, taking in the full force and power of our magnificent river. You may wish to take a boat tour to Golubac Fortress, the region’s pride and joy dating back to the Middle Ages. In summer, swimmers can take to the new beach. The area is also a hotspot for fishing enthusiasts. Hikers too can enjoy several hiking trails. The routes usually wind their way to one of the observation decks overlooking the magnificent Djerdap Gorge, Golubac Fortress, the river Danube and neighbouring Romania. We recommend the observation decks of Ljilljar and Zmajevo gnezdo, giving you a vantage point over the Danube as the Roman legions once had when defending the Empire’s northern frontier. Monastery Tuman is only a stone's throw from Golubac. Legend has it that it is the endowment of Miloš Obilić, the greatest Serbian hero of the Battle of Kosovo. Lepenski vir, an archaeological site dating back 9,000 years, is 40 km away, Viminacium some 50 km and the Ram Fortress some 20 km. You can rent a bicycle in Golubac and indulge in a cycle along the riverside bike lane. Enjoy!
