Chikanka is the hidden jewel of our combined villages, Underberg & Himeville. Nestled at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with its own uninterrupted views over our lake and cows grazing in the meadows towards Giants Cup high up in the Berg, and the iconic Sani Pass in the distance, the view and garden will take your breath away.
Tex & Anita farmed for 35 years in the district and moved into the village a few years ago so they know the area and the community extremely well. Their hospitality and care of their guests is unsurpassed, and when not out mountain biking or hiking, they are able to suggest things to do in the area and will do whatever they can to make your stay memorable.
Himeville is a quaint, quiet, farm village with a beautiful view of the Drakensberg, and although small, it has a number of excellent restaurants, a farmers market and a very interesting little museum. It is also close to the Sani Pass and the Umzimkulu river and has many beautiful hiking, trail running and mountain biking trails within close proximity. It is also a mere 5km from Underberg, the main village supporting the farming community and visitors to the Berg, where you can pick up anything you may need during your stay.
