A buffet breakfast is available at the inn. I liked the fact that it didn't feel like a hotel while still having all the amenities I'd expect from a hotel. The beds were also the comfiest I had on that part of my trip. The view from everywhere was gorgeous, but honestly that's just that entire region of Switzerland. What a beautiful country!

All rooms have a private bathroom and a satellite TV. They provide views of the Appenzell Alps or of the village. Only some of the rooms have a balcony and must be requested separately. The location of the hotel is absolutely amazing, it is possible to go to several hikes directly from there. Our room had a very nice balcony with a view. We also had a medium sized dog with us and it was no problem at all (I was a bit afraid it will be complicated, but it was not). The hotel staff is very friendly and it is obvious that they truly care about enjoyment of stay of their guests :)! We also ate several dinners at their restaurant and it was really good, only some of the portions were too big for us :D. Our favourite dishes were the trout and the steak (although traditional rösti is definitely also worth mentioning). If the circumstances are right, we would love to visit some time again.
