This cabin was pure magic. Tucked away in peaceful nature, it felt like stepping into a cozy Icelandic dream. We liked everything although the cottage was a bit hard to find when we were arriving at night. Beautiful views from everywhere, one of our favourite stays. Clean and perfect for a small group.

As we were making our way to Eastern Iceland, we selected a few places to spend the night and cut the long drive in small pieces. Ytri Vik Cottages was one of them. Check-in was smooth - we simply picked up the key to our cottage from a lock box. We were welcomed by an outstanding view of the fjörd down below, parked the car right next to the cottage and in we were ! The cottages have large living rooms with kitchen areas, one bedroom and one bathroom with shower. Big bonus : a hot pool for each cottage, which we could enjoy after dinner in the nearby village of Hauganes. All in all, a very restful stop. Wish we could have stayed longer in the area and enjoy a second night, but there's just so much to see in Iceland ! :-)
