Everything was perfect. We were well taken care of from the moment, we arrived to La Pavona, as the boat company knew about our arrival and had our names. The accomodation even arranged our transfer to Cahuita (boat and taxi), which worked out well. The apartment exeeded every expectation. Huge open space, wonderful views to Tortuguero canal with sliding doors/windows to let the outside atmosphere in. The whole space was very clean, warm shower, safe, garderobe for clothes, dining an writing table, full sized fridge, double airconditioning, and even a bathtube with view. The bed was very comfortable, the linen was good quality. In town everything was in walking distance, and the whole area was astonishing. If we ever return to Costa Rica, we would definitely stay here again.

This lodge has 33 comfortable spacious bungalows with comfortable beds, private bathrooms, hot water and ceiling fans. We were so pleased with Aninga lodge, it's setting is stunning, the facilities are great. We enjoyed being able to walk across to the neighbouring/sister hotel of Pachira lodge as well and walk through their forest walk to see lots of wildlife. Being in the pool and watching the monkies jump around in the trees above you was a treat. We were concerned that having to get the boat across to the town could be really inconvenient, but getting the boats across the water was actually all part of the experience that we really enjoyed. Absolutely fantastic hotel, we'd love to stay again!

The pretty Pachira Lodge is located 5 minutes’ boat trip from the entrance to the lush Tortuguero National Park. It offers an outdoor pool and sun terraces, as well canopy tours and green turtle spotting.

Set in a 34-acre estate, the hotel offers spacious rooms with vibrant décor. Each has a ceiling fan, screened windows and a private bathroom. The surroundings and the rooms were so comfortable, clean and very nicely furnished. The food was inexpensive, not really fancy but good food with plenty of choice. Pool / bar area was gorgeous. Loved the wildlife around too.
