We had a great stay at Hotel Alte Post. The room was modern, with a very comfortable bed and pillows. The hotel itself is charming and authentic, located in the heart of the beautiful town of Oberammergau. One of the best features is the free private parking right behind the hotel – incredibly convenient, especially considering how central the location is. Finding parking in town can be a challenge, so this was a big plus. The breakfast was also very good – fresh, varied, and satisfying. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. It’s also just about a 15-minute drive from Linderhof Palace, which makes it a great base for sightseeing.

Fantastic traditional Bavarian hotel, with a perfect location over a hill, overseeing the nearby amazing monastery and not close to the road to hear any noises. Good starting point for mountain walks as well. It has a good restaurant, nice service and a high quality breakfast. The spa centre is pleasant as well.
