We arrived late at night at Le Maxime. Auxerre was freezing and a soft cloud of icy vapour was lifting up from La Yonne river. Imagine how warm it felt when at the reception they told us we received a free upgrade to the Hotel's suite, with a balcony on the river! Breakfast was prime quality, too. Absolutely recommended.

This is the best hotel I have stayed in, and I travel a lot. Staff is very warm, welcoming, and work extremely hard. They helped us with booking taxis and answering questions about the region. The breakfast is also a must-have. They work so hard to ensure it is fresh and always replenished!!!

Great location, very central to the town. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy car parking. Best of all the place was spotlessly clean and the bathrooms are brand new.

On our way from Switzerland to Ireland we used this hotel for a great price. Excellent hotel, clean, with a scent. Friendly reception, excellent breakfast. We recommend this hotel. Plenty of parking spaces and cleanliness around. Newly opened hotel.
