First football stadium I visited other than my local Filbert Street! My first visit was some 30+ years ago! Wow, what a difference, it stands for everything the club has achieved with fan memorials after the tragedy at Hillsborough. Lovely visit and a little time for quiet contemplation. Great service with excellent staff. Stadium was hard to find but with some help from locals and fantastic bus drivers, achieved a lovely but somewhat amazing visit. The stadium is so much better than I could have imagined.Guest review bySusan - 6.0
Take a bus ride (#17) up to Walton Road to visit a pub there...
Take a bus ride (#17) up to Walton Road to visit a pub there if you want a feel for the 'true' Liverpool. Try this on match day, either Anfield Stadium or Everson Stadium, which are a few blocks up the hill. Don't book the King Harry's(now the Brownlow) for rooms, you'll regret it. See if you can find a room at the St. Hilda. Also the Springfield Inn. You will find a lot of karioke, and a little live music. There is a great spacious, english-style, pub-restaurant just down the road. There is a great big park next to Anfield Stadium. Find the Leeds Canal and take a long walk back toward Liverpool. It's only a 10 minute walk and we just used it as a bed for the night so it was perfect for us. Toiletries and towels were provided. Nice hot shower. Very contained property.
