truly enjoyed my stay at The Scott. The property is beautifully designed in an elegant Scottish style that makes you feel like you’re staying in a small castle — a perfect blend of charm and understated luxury. The staff were exceptionally polite and attentive, always ready to help with any questions or requests. Although the room was not very large, it was thoughtfully furnished, cozy, and had everything we needed. I particularly appreciated the small touches — like the daily treats, cookies, and coffee provided in the room. These little details made the whole experience feel extra special and warm. I would also like to highlight the breakfast — the atmosphere was simply wonderful. The dining room was stunning, the service excellent, and the food both delicious and beautifully presented. There was a nice selection to choose from, and it truly felt like a luxurious start to the day — the perfect way to begin exploring Edinburgh.

I can't believe what an amazing building this is. We stayed in the rooms with the lofts, and they are gorgeous and very well appointed. Each room had a turntable a guitar and lots of nice little amenities (I used the hot water bottle to sooth an aching shoulder). The guitar has a tuner on it too. The mini bar area is very well stocked, and it is quite reasonable priced. They want you to have a beer, and they're not going to make you pay £10 per beer like some hotels. We also got a keg in the room for a little bit more money, and there are of course the famous shower beers. The decor is really cool too--all based around their funky art they use for the beers. Even if you are not a big beer person, it is a great place to stay, The restaurant downstairs has delicious food with really nice portion sizes, and the breakfasts were included with our room--full breakfasts right off the menu, not a sad hotel breakfast. I especially recommend the vegan breakfast. We also got a free welcome beer and a free beer for not requesting towel laundry, although housekeeping did come every day to make the beds. They are well staffed and have lots of chill, friendly people there to help you out. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, go there to hang out in the bar or for brunch. They also have a nice terrace and patio to sit outside. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the last stop on the 100 Airport Bus, and it's really close to all the downtown sights. We were able to walk to just about every attraction from there. Finally, I have to say that it's a nice and quiet hotel too. It's on a quiet street, and the walls are very thick, plus there's two doors between you and the hall. I slept great there. Definitely a nice place to stay for anyone wanting to explore Edinburgh.

Holyrood Park

The vast, green expanse of Holyrood Park is best experienced from Arthur'€™s Seat – the park's rugged mountain and a long-dormant volcano. When you head up the winding paths, you'€™ll see the delicate remains of the 15th-century St. Anthony'€™s Chapel, as well as the ruins of four 2,000-year-old hill forts.

Fabulous walking area, if you go up King Arthur's Seat the last section of the climb is very steep and rocky, please wear suitable footwear. St. Anthony's Chapel Ruins on Whinny Hill so worth a visit, great views.

We loved it here but we were really just walking through on our way to the Castle. Next time we go I would like to spend more time here. So lovely. Lots of benches to sit at. Beautiful views. Coffee shop for refreshments. Long queues though.

A must to visit if you have the time.

A must to visit if you have the time. A large area to chill out in and explore. When we lived in Edinburgh, we used to go there a lot with our young family. The energetic can go to the top of 'Arthur's Seat' for panoramic city views, or just go feed the ducks at the other end of the park.

When visiting the Park it is worth following the path around Holyrood, albeit it is 3.3 miles long, and one side is far steeper, but shorter than the other side, but the views of the City, from the top and side, and on clear days, Portobello harbour, the Firth of Forth, as well as the Rail and Road Bridges at Queensferry, is well worth the effort, and of course exercise!

We had a great stay. Location was easy to reach by foot (the whole city is pretty walkable), and very close to Holyrood Park, which we found by accident when walking to the city center. 24/7 staff was very helpful. They provided us with a fan and with laundry detergent for free. Safe environment. Comfortable room and bathroom. I'd gladly stay here again!

Amazing location with a nice walk through Holyrood Park below the Salisbury Crags to downtown. Convenient bus stop just a couple minutes away. Breakfast offers a huge variety of choices and is very good. Room had all I needed.

Very cozy appartment, everything we needed was available and it was well maintained. Nicely decorated with lots of interesting trinkets around the appartment. The location was also right behind the Holyrood Palace and across Arthur's seat, so easy access to both the Royal Mile and the Holyrood Park. If you're able-bodied its easy to reach everything in the city centre by foot. The hills and old stairs can be quite steep in Edinburg. The nearest bus stop was about a 10 minute walk away.
