Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square is a marvel of historic London architecture. Bordered by monumental museums, embassies and the National Gallery, this city-centre square is a focal point for celebrations, cultural events and rallies alike. At its heart, Admiral Nelson surveys the city from a 44-metre column, while four enormous bronze lions guard the ground below.

Make sure there is not some form of function/celebration or protest. Trafalgar Square was entirely closed up & decorated for Chinese New year & I felt that took away from one of London's iconic features

The hotel location is amazing, it is literally in the heart of The Strand, just down from Trafalgar Square so we were so impressed how easy to get to everything. The hotel itself is lovely, looks upscale but I was surprised the entrance only had steps and no suitcase easy access. If you have a heavy suitcase, unless the concierge are willing to help (which they didn't) then you are pulling that up the steps. Not ideal.

Prime benefit was the location, as we came via Euston and visted the London Eye and Greenwich, the latter by river boat from Embankment Pier; and also the Wallace Collection and British Museum and National Library. We also walked into Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square areas. Though we ate out (and there was plenty of choice) we found the flat well equipped for a longer stay. Vegan breakfast at the Cream Dream on the ground floor.
