Hotel is in the city centre on a river canal and in part overlooking the Kilkenny Castle. We had booked a room weeks in advance asking for a room with a view but received a double room overlooking the carpark, which was disappointing. The terrace overlooking the river and Kilkenny Castle is lovely, and it's an easy walk to the castle and the old medieval part of the city with pubs, restaurants and shops. Live music just across the street... well, everywhere really. The food service, especially breakfast, is fun and delightful. Grocery right across the street, coffee house right around corner, Kilkenny Castle an easy few minutes walk away. Property owner is very kind and provided as much information as we needed to make our time in Kilkenny remarkable. Kilkenny castle is just around the corner. Close to lots of bars and restaurants. Beds were comfy, good sized room. Bathroom had a good shower and bath. The staff were friendly and always willing to help and answer questions. They even tried to assist us in getting a last-minute dinner reservations on a Friday night. Kilkenny is a great place, and the hotel is within walking distance to everything. Kilkenny Castle was just around the corner. We soon found out that we had brought the wrong kind of adaptor -- the desk was able to find us one to use and let us keep it for the rest of our trip.
