They looked beautiful but unfortunately a wee old man took a wrong turn and drove down them which meant they had to be closed off to be surveyed for any damage. Tip: lock up your grandad and take away his car keys if you want to visit

Just down the street below the steps is the headquarters of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. This possibly qualifies as the "World's Smallest Country", as Italy has given this building Extraterritorial status, which means Italy has no authority here. The Order issues its own stamps, which are sendable only to some countries. Most countries don't recognize the sovereign status of the Order, but it has official observer status at the U.N.

Avoid food right in the square (super overpriced).

Avoid food right in the square (super overpriced). Make sure to check reviews of places before eating there (4.0 stars or more). Don’t sit on them or you’ll be yelled at. Check out Liazza del Popolo after.

Beautiful day on the Spanish Steps.

Beautiful day on the Spanish Steps. After we roamed around, we found a table at the rooftop bar at the top of the Spanish Steps and had some beer and wine - very relaxing and we could see the entire city from the rooftop bar.

    Beautiful

Beautiful Bering to Rome 20 years ago, really enjoyed sightseeing again and beeing able to see the beautiful parts of Rome. The only thing that really shocked me at every place was the dirt and rubbish everywhere. The tourists don’t care where they leave their stuff, no one is willing to carry their rubbish until it can be disposed properly. People just through their rubbish into the beautiful flowers/nature or leave it on the floor. This is a no go and should be fined, I’m sure they would have enough money then for a proper clean up. Especially in the heat, the rubbish smells and makes the whole town look bad. I cannot believe how disrespectful tourists and the own people are to such a lovely city.

    Good view from the top.

Good view from the top. Other than that, not super impressive. Also don’t shake hands with the migrants. This is one of the main places they try and slip a trinket (usually bracelets) into your hand and then badger you to pay them for it.

Beautiful apartment in a great location! Spacious, clean and recently updated and well maintained. Easy check in and check out. Quiet and close to everything. The metro is steps away, the Spanish Steps are right outside the door, the Trevi Fountain was a short walk, Colosseum and Vatican were maybe 15 minutes on the Metro

Fantastic location in Rome—just a 10-minute walk from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, with the metro station nearby for easy access to other parts of the city. The room was very clean, comfortable, and perfect for our one-night stay. The elevator was a great convenience since the room is on the fourth floor. Overall, a well-maintained property in an ideal location, making it easy to enjoy the best of Rome even on a short visit.

Beautiful apartment building. About a 15 minute walk to the Spanish Steps and one street over from the Corso. As a solo 62 year old female I felt very comfortable walking around at night to and from the Spanish Steps. Yasmin and Francesca were welcoming, very thorough and helpful in getting me settled in.

We live the location in Rome - in a busy area close to Spanish steps but since it is on a side street, we felt miles away from the crowds. The staff was welcoming and helpful. We also enjoyed the Babette restaurant in the piazza on the ground floor for a quiet coffee in the morning and aperitivo in the evening. This rates as the top location we stayed while in Italy. Such a pleasant experience.

Our room was in the annex building, which is on the piazza, while the main building was at the top of the Spanish Steps. We were in a corner room, so we had 2 balconies. The hotel is in a great location surrounded by restaurants, designer stores, the Metro, a taxi stand, and a delicious gelato shop.
