Trevi Fountain

Much to the annoyance of his fellow gods who chose to simply materialise, Oceanus preferred to travel by cumbersome shell-shaped chariot. Constructed in 1762 at the height of the baroque, the Trevi Fountain is one of the world’s most elaborate – and romantic – fountains. The God Oceanus is the fountain’s centrepiece. Swimmers take heed: beware of the vigilant fountain police!

I would suggest to wake up early and arrive to the fountain around 7 am in the morning. You will still find a big crowd of people, but it would be far more pleasant and comfortable than going there later in the afternoon.

    We loved it.

We loved it. We got there just before they closed down the site to visitors but it was very crowded. If you want another view of it, try the store across the street which has large windows to take photos of Trevi Fountain.

    Absolutely overcrowded.

Absolutely overcrowded. We were there on a Friday late afternoon. Took the subway there and walked the rest of the way. We did not want to use the subway in the dark so we decided beforehand to get a taxi or uber back, however, they were charging astronomical prices as they knew we were desperate. We ended up going back by subway.

The fountain is incredible but the crowds ruin the experience. Go very early or later when the crush has died down. Could barely edge our way around the perimeter. The little square up the street to the right of the fountain was fun.

    There's fountains and there's fountains.

There's fountains and there's fountains. Then there's the Trevi Fountain, probably the most beautiful and famous in the world. The sculptures associated with the fountain are simply wonderful. And then there's the famous "bath" taken in the fountain by Anita Ekberg in the movie "La Dolce Vita" . . . A place of pilgrimage for lovers from everywhere.

The perfect hotel in Rome!! All landmarks are exceptionally close, especially the Trevi Fountain which was the main reason in selecting the location. The staff was very helpful and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. Our room was a great size for 3 people. I hope to be back again the next time I am in Italy.

Beautiful apartment in a great location! Spacious, clean and recently updated and well maintained. Easy check in and check out. Quiet and close to everything. The metro is steps away, the Spanish Steps are right outside the door, the Trevi Fountain was a short walk, Colosseum and Vatican were maybe 15 minutes on the Metro

Everything about it was perfect for me! Love the location because you can walk outside and immediately be at the Pantheon for drinks or eating a delicious restaurant or walk a little more and the Vatican. Take a very quick $9 taxi to Trevi Fountain even though it was raining one night it was so easy and the hotel provided my umbrella. The cutest streets outside to walk in and shopping is there too.

Great location - right in the city center. The Trevi Fountain was just a 5-minute walk from the apartment, and from there we could easily reach all the other beautiful sights of Rome. The apartment was comfortable, with a nice modern design.

The location of the apartment was very good, walking distance to most popular attractions and shopping. The Trevi Fountain and Pantheon were easy to walk to as well as all the high end shopping and dining options. The location is the main reason to consider this apartment.
