Trevi Fountain

Much to the annoyance of his fellow gods who chose to simply materialise, Oceanus preferred to travel by cumbersome shell-shaped chariot. Constructed in 1762 at the height of the baroque, the Trevi Fountain is one of the world’s most elaborate – and romantic – fountains. The God Oceanus is the fountain’s centrepiece. Swimmers take heed: beware of the vigilant fountain police!

I would suggest to wake up early and arrive to the fountain around 7 am in the morning. You will still find a big crowd of people, but it would be far more pleasant and comfortable than going there later in the afternoon.

    We loved it.

We loved it. We got there just before they closed down the site to visitors but it was very crowded. If you want another view of it, try the store across the street which has large windows to take photos of Trevi Fountain.

    Absolutely overcrowded.

Absolutely overcrowded. We were there on a Friday late afternoon. Took the subway there and walked the rest of the way. We did not want to use the subway in the dark so we decided beforehand to get a taxi or uber back, however, they were charging astronomical prices as they knew we were desperate. We ended up going back by subway.

The fountain is incredible but the crowds ruin the experience. Go very early or later when the crush has died down. Could barely edge our way around the perimeter. The little square up the street to the right of the fountain was fun.

    There's fountains and there's fountains.

There's fountains and there's fountains. Then there's the Trevi Fountain, probably the most beautiful and famous in the world. The sculptures associated with the fountain are simply wonderful. And then there's the famous "bath" taken in the fountain by Anita Ekberg in the movie "La Dolce Vita" . . . A place of pilgrimage for lovers from everywhere.

The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the train station, super convenient location. The hosts were kind and helped us a lot with useful information both upon our arrival and throughout our stay. The room was spacious and clean. It's also only about 30 minutes on foot to the Trevi Fountain. Thank you!

The room was spacious with a private shower and clean, a pleasant stay. But the highlight is that the apartment is located 40 meters from the Trevi Fountain! From there it is very easy to get to every site in the old city. Not to mention the endless restaurants and cafes nearby. Despite this proximity, the windows are soundproof and when they are closed you don't hear the hustle and bustle outside. We loved it.

The apartment is perfectly located near all the main sights. Carrefour is just 2 minutes away, Rome Termini station is about a 10-minute walk, the Colosseum is around 20 minutes on foot, and the Trevi Fountain about 30 minutes. The apartment itself is very beautiful and comfortable—I really enjoyed my stay!

We stayed at a beautiful hotel just steps away from my wife’s favorite place — the Trevi Fountain — to celebrate her birthday. The hotel made the day even more special with a lovely surprise: a complimentary upgrade to a fountain-view room and a bottle of Prosecco. 🥂✨

A small but comfortable apartment in the heart of Rome. The location is perfect for exploring the city. The Trevi fountain is just around the corner, perfect for an early morning or late evening visit to avoid the crowds. Other landmarks like the Pantheon and Colosseum are also a short walk away. There are several restaurants around including a dessert shop at the base of the building which shouldn't be missed. We loved staying here and would definitely come back.

Very conveniently located, Restaurants on the doorstep, supermarket just metres from the apartment. Just minutes from the Trevi Fountain and an easy walk to main attractions. Staff are super friendly and very efficient and check-in was seamless. Security is excellent. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay in Rome. 😊

The apartment is 160m from the Trevi Fountain so absolutely at the heart of tourist Rome. Immaculately clean the property is fitted out to a high standard. Everything worked well and if I ever go back to Rome I would seek this apartment out if it was available.

The hotel is right in the centre of Rome and about 100 meters from the Trevi Fountain, so a very busy area of Rome, but our room was quiet and we weren't disturbed by the crowds in the streets below. The hotel had a good breakfast and the rooms were cleaned daily. I would stay here again if we revisit Rome.

Rome has lots of lovely romantic spots such as the Trevi Fountain which is stunning for a romantic stroll at night time. There are lots of romantic restaurants dotted around too and if you really want to take romantic to a new level then I recommend visiting the Mirabelle restaurant - a rooftop restaurant with a terrace overlooking Rome. It is very pricey but it is stunning.
