Being a vegan is difficult in Japan so this breakfast was a great start to my day. The hotel is just across the road from the station and an easy walk to Hikone Castle. The room was big by Japanese standards with a big window and a nice view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's also a good laundromat on the property. The owner of the hostel, Mr. Noguchi, was very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect english - even lending me his bike to visit Hikone castle. The family running the Ryokan was very very friendly and accommodating to me. Everything has been explained to me, but I also speak Japanese so mileage may vary. The bath was very nice and Japanese style. Everything I needed like Toothbrushes, shampoo was available.
