I chose sea view room. The view is amazing. I could even see the torii from Miyajima. The location is also amazing, next to the ferry and streetcar from Hiroshima train station. Breakfast is good. The moment I got inside the room, I was thinking, should I stay for one more night?

Most visitors would probably spend the day on the marvelous Itsukushima island, but there is no accommodation close to the station/ferry boat in Miyajima. This hotel is one of the closest to the boats which is an essential asset. Walking to the ferry boat is possible, it takes roughly 15 min, but the sidewalk is very narrow and the traffic intense... The hotel has an excellent solution : a shuttle van! Attention: the name on the van says "Route Inn", not Grandviro. Cherry on the cake: if you wait for this van at the hotel, just take place in their nice waiting corner facing the bay, with free beverages. Bravo! Very clean room. The bed is perfect as is the bathroom/shower/bathtub. Perfect lift too. There is a 7-Eleven on the other side of the street at the traffic lights and a good udon noodles restaurant a 10 min stroll away heading to the station.

There were so many facilities included and conveniences such as vending machines on our floor and a shop next to reception. Our room was very large compared to most hotel rooms in Japan and had beautiful views looking over towards the water, we could even see the Itsukushima Shrine Otorii Gate. Our room also had a private onsen on the balcony which was an awesome inclusion!

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Sakuraya. The hotel's location is unbeatable, offering both sea view and mountain view rooms; we enjoyed a mountain view room with a glimpse of the sea. It's a short walk to the Itsukushima Shrine, the ropeway, shops, restaurants, and the ferry station. The amazing staff were very helpful, providing great recommendations for places to see and eat. We ordered breakfast, which was both tasty and generously portioned. Overall, it was one of the best places we stayed during our trip. Highly recommended!

The Japanese breakfast was excellent and the staff were so very helpful and friendly. The location is very good, close to the Itsukushima Shrine, the shops and food and the Miyajima Aquarium to name a few. The goemon baths were a great bonus!

The location is fantastic, very close to the Itsukushima Shrine and the Tori gate. All the other main activities and points of interest can also be reached in a matter of minutes. Service was great, as the staff is very kind, welcoming and the free shuttle service from the ferry port to the hotel was very much appreciated. The room was very comfortable and the wifi is good. Also the onsen is a nice addition.

Great experience overall. They have a shuttle that brings you to and from the ferry terminal. The hotel is situated just behind the Itsukushima Shrine, giving you the opportunity to go there early in the morning before the crowds arrive. The room was comfortable, they have the choice of western-style or Japanese-style rooms. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. They catered attentively to our gluten-free needs.

Everything was spectacular… our room had a magical view in the Torii gate and the Itsukushima shrine. The staff was amazingly kind and attentive, the smallest detail was taken into account even nefore we thought of it, and the Japanese breakfast was amazing. Best ryokan we stayed at in Japan!

Best stay of our journey. Family operated accomodation. Great hosts, welcoming us warmly and introducing us to Japanese cuisine and culture. Traditional rooms and delicious food. Located close to the ferry terminal and short walk away from Itsukushima shrine with its red torii in the water and the cable car station to Mount Misen. If you're lucky, you will see some deer close to the accomodation.
