This place is phenomenal! We had such a lovely time. Impeccable all around service, location, everything! I loved the kitchen and seating area where we could wind down after a day of sightseeing and delicious food. The beds were so comfortable and calming. The surrounding neighborhood had delicious food and kind people that made us feel welcome on every corner. It was fun going to produce markets and coming back to our home away from home. Kumamoto rocks and the venue confirmed it.

I absolutely love everything about this place! Every little detail is so well thought out, and the design is neat and beautiful. The garden is so lovely, making the house feel peaceful and refreshing. Owner is incredibly warm and welcoming, super polite, kind, and always greeting us with a friendly smile. This was the best hotel on our trip to Kyushu. We wish we could've stayed longer in Kumamoto. The hotel was fairly new and had a great view of the castle on the rooftop. The location was perfect; walkable to the castle and the downtown area. There's lots of newer/modern restaurants and shops in the neighborhood behind as well. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The best part was the pajamas. They were super comfortable and stylish. They even sell them to support local school children who designed them. The staff was also great and very easy to communicate with.

    U will need a english speaking guide cos everything is in Japanese. Also you wont see the actual inside of the castle as they have done it up like an exhibition hall. Overall, it was disappointing as you cannot experience any history while inside.

    Breakfast was pretty cool! I enjoyed having horse meat. The hotel was also pretty cool with lots of memorabilia that I credited on facebook. Staff was very nice and greeted me very nicely. They helped me grab a cab, coin laundry was good, room was 2 bedroom so very accommodating. Being next to Kumamoto castle was also awesome

    The location is very good and lots of stores, restaurants and a nice supermarket in the same building. It’s connected to the bus stations, so we don’t need to go outside the building to catch buses. Also it’s very close to the arcade. The room is so clean and we could see a beautiful Kumamoto Castle from our room. We will stay at this hotel again.

    I chose this hotel for its location, being so near to Kumamoto Castle, and shopping and restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised to find it with easy access overhead and shopping close by. The hotel is modern and clean, with friendly English speaking staff who were very helpful. The morning breakfast was great, with a view of the busy street below.

    Perfect hotel near Kumamoto Castle. Staff was as helpful and friendly as they could possibly be. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Had all the basic amenities. Great shower. Controllable a/c. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. If you’re traveling solo, this is a great hotel. Excellent value for money—almost unbelievably so. Rooms are small, as most Japanese business hotels are.

    The hotel is located between Kumamoto station and Kumamoto castle. This puts both of them within walking distance with a 20 minute or so walk to either. The staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. The breakfast was incredible with a huge selection of Japanese and western foods. The price was surprisingly reasonable for a Mitsui Garden.

    Fantastic location and view of the Kumamoto Castle at night with the Castle lit up. as long as you have a Castle view room. Worth it to pay extra for such a room. Room was quite big for a Japanese hotel. I think we got the superior room. Location is close to Castle but still used our car bc we had to leave after visiting Castle. Also, was an uphill climb so walking from Hotel would not be a stroll.
