There are also nice eateries lining the road in front of the hotel, with a big supermarket about 350m away in the residential district across the rail lines. The main artery Kokubunji Dori which begins at the intersection in front of Hotel Around leads to the touristy area around Miyagawa River, about 600m away.

    We had a wonderful stay! It was a great location and very close to Takayama Station. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Communicating was never an issue. The rooms were comfortable and the view was great. Loved the private onsens! Loved the traditional aspects of the hotel the most. Highly recommend!

    Located just across Takayama Station, this hotel is within walking distance to most of the major attractions within the town. The room was very clean and spacious. All basic bathroom amenities were provided, and the fridge even included free drinks. The breakfast had a wonderful variety of options and the kitchen staff were so friendly. There were two washers and dryers free of charge to use. There was free sake tasting in the lobby as well.

    Very convenient location. The hotel is a short 2 minute walk from Takayama station. There is a Mcdonalds next door. Sanmachi Suji (Old Town Takayama) is just a 16 minute walk. Hotel has a nice modern look. Room was very clean and had a nice decor. Beds were soft and comfortable. Staff were nice and friendly. Front desk is open 24 hours.

    Well situated next to Takayama Station, offering easy access to train and bus transit. Not hard to get around by walking from this location either, though! Room was slightly bigger than what I've come to expect from JP business hotels, and I did not have issue accessing my luggage. Checked most of the boxes- clean, quiet and comfortable room, and a helpful and friendly staff.

    We loved everything about our stay in IORI Uramachi. Everyone was so hospitable—from driving us to our apartment, offering to make dinner and travel reservations for us, and booking us a complimentary taxi to Takayama station at checkout time. They thought of everything. The complimentary food and drinks in the fridge were a kind and appreciated gesture—and delicious! The open air bath was dreamy in the cold weather. All around great stay!

    Right smack in the middle of Takayama. Less than 5min walk to Takayama station. We walked to basically everywhere. The onsen was greaaat. Spacious rooms, nice beds. As most hotels in Japan, you can leave your luggage before and after check-on. Free coffee and tea all day. Definitely will stay again
