The location is amazing, right behind Bourbon street but away from the bustle and noise, the rooms are huge, we had a king suite and I have lived in smaller apartments, the pool and garden/courtyard with hot spa pool is the icing on the cake!

Totally over-rated.

Totally over-rated. If you enjoy the combined unique odor of urine, marijuana, and vomit all rolled into one, then Bourbon Street is for you. But it's not for us. Save your money and spend it elsewhere. And New Orleans in general, is expensive and way over-rated.

Don't go if you don't like music so loud it makes your ears bleed, waiters trying to up both their tip and the bill, the stench of cannabis, beggars and con artists asking where you got your shoes from and drunks acting as if they had just had their first drink.Which it probably was.

Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras is an absolute spectacle—superb energy, non-stop music, and a wild, unforgettable atmosphere! I managed to collect a mountain of beads, and let’s just say, I was treated to a few flashes of some truly impressive lingerie from some gorgeous ladies. The whole experience is a hilarious, over-the-top party that you really have to see to believe. If you’re looking for fun, a little bit of cheekiness, and stories you maybe shouldn’t tell your grandma, this is the place to be!

Bourbon Street is for sure an interesting place, and it is also extremely crowded and noisy. I am not sure how anybody can keep up a normal conversation while walking down the street. There are basically all types of music played, maybe 4 or 5, individuals or group, on both sides of a the same sidewalk. Also just about everybody warns tourists of unsafe the street is as soon as the sun is down--which in winter means past 5PM. We did not experience , nor did we see/witness any criminal activity, though. Police is there too, watching, on street corners.

Whatever you do, if you decide to bring children to NOLA,...

Whatever you do, if you decide to bring children to NOLA, especially children that are still in strollers, do not take a child's stroller to Bourbon street, especially at night. I wouldn't say it's dangerous, but rather really not appropriate for kids to be on Bourbon street and there is often very loud music playing from the bars and street performers that might be tough on little ears. Plus, there are usually some people that are very intoxicated walking around and do you want that around your child(ren)?

I choose Jean Lafitte House mainly for the proximity with the French quarter, Bourbon Street. Of course the price was good also. Unfortunately I was there for only one night, but I will back in New Orleans and of course I will choose the same hotel, I like how the structure its hided from the street, and inside has this kind of Vintage Aurea. The room was super clean and fully furnished. Was almost Halloween and i felt the good vibes walking between the streets. Super!

The hotel was quaint and very clean. Bathroom had a rotted wood area at base where tub met the wall but manager said it was scheduled to be repaired. It did not cause any problems. The location the the hotel was perfect and I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for and area close to the French Quarter but far enough away to be quiet. We were a couple of blocks for Bourbon Street and Cafe duMond.

Hotel St Marie is centrally located within the French Quarter. Loved being within a 10-15 minute walk of everything...Canal Street, Cafe DuMonde and the French Market. It was also very quiet, which was surprising because it was located just a block off of Bourbon Street.

Our 1 bedroom suite was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The outside deck area was a great place to sit out, have a beer and relax. Location is great - about a 6 minute walk to Bourbon Street. Hotel parking is expensive. There is a much cheaper surface carpark a minute walk away (to the right of the entrance - much better option). Breakfast was pretty good and security was excellent. We spent 2 days in New Orleans and for us, we found the locals to be very friendly and the city safe - even at night.

This is absolutely our favorite hotel in New Orleans. 1. It’s beautiful with the exposed bricks, antique furniture and cozy courtyard. 2. You can walk to anything you want to see from there. This trip we walked to a concert at the Saenger, Royal Street, Bourbon Street and the French Market. 3. Great/convenient parking setup. 4. The staff is always nice and incredibly helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect—just a short walk from Bourbon Street, with so much to see, do, and take in. There was a constant buzz of activity, which made the trip exciting and full of energy. The hotel itself was lovely, and we especially appreciated the pool—it was a great place to relax and unwind. On top of that, the price was very budget-friendly and 100% worth the money. We'd definitely stay here again on our next trip to New Orleans!
