The place was incredible the owners even helped to find clothes for my kids, I will definably be back in the future. For the price this was on of the best places I've stayed in Costa Rica and the climate was absolutely incredible.

Large ptivate cabine close to nature with large balcony facing the mountain. We saw green toucanets from the balcony while having breakfast! Comfortable bed with lots of blankets. Hot water available. Large parking area. No kitchen but tea and coffee machine in the cabine. Don't be too late for check-in as road to get there is a steep and it is not easy to drive at night.

The hotel had the most wonderful surroundings, stunning mountains and beautifully cared for gardens. The room was clean and spacious and the communal bar and restaurant areas were really peaceful and comfortable. Special mention goes to the staff, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The Couple who runs the Lodge is amazingly friendly and polite. The whole Area is very lovely created. Food was very tasty. Many birds ate around the lodges. Everything fantastic...

El Toucanet is a delightful small hotel in the mountains with rustic cottages and a spacious, beautiful restaurant overlooking a garden. Moises, at the desk, was a gracious and caring host, as was the kitchen staff. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Navigation is a must, as the hotel is about 30 minutes from the Pan American Hwy (Hwy 2) - absolutely worth the effort to get there. The sunny morning at breakfast with windows open and many species of hummingbirds feeding was most memorable.

A real 10*, Yuri and Esteban are wonderful friendly hosts, the river deck is fantastic, breakfasts and dinners were all special, real fine dining :) ! The garden, the birds, the tranquility, the atmosphere just makes you relax perfectly! To all wonderful places the road is hard, but all was worth it! (4wd is advisable 😉)

This was our last stop of a 3-week round trip and a great stop it was. Temperatures are cool at night, chalets are cosy and the showers are warm in the morning (not a given in Costa Rica). The restaurant is exceptional combined with great wines. Great value for money! Including the restaurant.
